I bought this 30 years ago, but assume some such product is still
available. Label says Permanent Pigment Liquitex Remover & brush cleaner
for dissolving dried-in liquitex/ reconditions clogged & dirty brushes,
... Flammable, harmful vapor contains xylol."

Of course if you have some xylol on hand you could try that. I once had
some xylol on hand but it evaporated thru & ate up the rubber cork,
crumbled the metal screw top, melted the plastic container it came in and
over the years even escaped the glass bottle I put it in then. Which is to
say, prepare to breathe xylol if you plan to keep any around.

The Liquitex brush cleaner may be in a specially treated metal, or not be
that concentrated -- it's kept well over the years. In any event, alcohol
would be about as much use for clearing acrylic as water, probably less,
because it evaporates quicker. You might try lacquer thinner, acetone or
benzine, but if it's not one of the volatile solvents it won't dissolve
dried acrylic.
