Ehud other books you may find of interest are "The Secret Knowledge" by David Hockney,this shows how artists in pre photographic times used optics and mirrors to produce there art.much to the destain of the art inteligensia i am sure.another book is "Optics,Painting and Photography by M.H. Pirenne Cambridge University Press 1970 0 512 07686 2.

a new addition to this forum. i have a question after following what you all do here for the past few days..(whew, it's something..) has anyone attended christopher james' maine photographic workshop? Is he in this forum too??
oops, slightly embarrassing..i'd appreciate the feedback, the workshops are
costly and i'm curious as to how worthwhile they are beyond the "party " effect of a week together.
also, regarding photog. and painting, another favorite is Before Photography
by Galassi and Photography and Art, interactions since 1945 by Grundberg and Gauss
