Dick,
I hope more and more people get into Alt Photo and keep all these processes 
alive.  I can appreciate the skill to make a good print and the look and feel 
of each process.  On the other hand, I like the work I see coming out of the 
digital world too.  Yep, a person can press a button and make a print.  
However, there are also people working very hard to make really good digital 
prints on really fine paper that will last quite a long time.  I think the 
quadtone prints  made with John Cone's Piezography system would be  a good 
example.  It's funny, you hear some of the same discussions on those lists as 
you do here about papers, d-max, etc.  Great work, regardless of the process 
does not come easy.
I think there is room for all of it and certainly room for more good art in 
the world, regardless of the process.  I think they can all enhance our lives.
