Bob,
HP5 -  is this the same film sold by Freestyle under the name Arista?
I used XTOL 1:1 but did experience some small pin holes that I believed to be caused by a thin emulsion. Thought perhaps that was why Freestyle could sell it at such a low price. I am convinced it was not a dust problem. Any suggestions?
The film seemed to work very well other then pin holes.

  I think you will find that both FP4 and HP5 work well with Xtol developer. 1:2 is recommended but if you want more punch (read contrast) try 1:1 or straight.
