Should work just fine. One of the many printers I've used to make
digital negatives for gum over the years was the Stylus Photo, the first
model in that series; the 700 was its replacement if I recall correctly.
Anyway, it worked just fine.  If I can find the information about which
image I made with negatives from which printer, I'd be happy to send you
a couple scans of gum prints made with negatives from the photo stylus
and you can decide for yourself if you can live with the resolution.
