CHEMICALS FOR WET-PLATE COLLODION PHOTOGRAPHY
Wet-plate collodion photography was introduced in 1851, and was very
popular until about 1880. In the USA, for example, this process was the
basis for photography during the Civil War. After the invention of dry
plates, however, the process was relegated to one of historical interest.

Now, a resurgence of interest in the wet-plate process has surfaced among
some photographers, especially those who also have an interest in
historical events, such as battles of the Civil War, and their re-enactments.

An excellent link containing further information on this subject of
wetplate photography during the Civil War is found at

Many of the chemicals to do wet-photography may be purchased from Baddley
Chemicals. Purchasing information is shown below.

Think many of you may find this interesting - a scientific house
advertising photo chemicals! (Sorry I couldn't change the formatting - I
tried it in a non-formatting email reader and it's still readable.)
