Answering a question a bit ago about collotype and Black Box in Chicago.
They are out of the collotype business and have been so for awhile. They
recently donated one of their very famous Thomas F. Hall rotary collotype
presses to the School of Art at Arizona State University. The entire
donation was in the order of $500,000 worth of collotype equipment. We
have been doing collotype for about ten years and their donation included
plate whirlers and much misc equipment now making ASU the place for
collotype. This press is capable of printing 40 inch by 60 inch collotypes
at a rate of 1,200 an hour (if so desired). The press is being refirbished
and hopefully will be operational within this academic context by the fall
of 2000. Any people interested can contact me through the list or directly
at my email: at my email: hajicek@asu.edu.
