New voice, folks!
I have a system that I really like for sizing gum. I use Todd Walker's alum
and spray starch method first. The directions are in my book, New Dimensions
in PhotoImaging (Focal Press). I size quite a few sheets at the same time
because it is time-consuming and requires a relatively clean area. When I am
ready to print, I use only one coating of diluted polymer spread evenly with
a sponge brush, also in my book. Before each additional color, I coat one
layer of the diluted polymer medium.
The advantage, I find, of this procedure is that the paper stays supptle and
the highlights remain clean.
I have ordered Pyro from B&S, so thanx for your tips, which I have been
collecting. I have been contact printing Polaroid 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 negs. for
pt/pl because I have not found a decent way to enlarge negs for the process.
I thought the problem might also be the Freestyle (less expensive) dupe and
reversal ortho films, so when I called Palladio Co. for advice, they
mentioned a new Premium Halftone film from Freestyle. Has anyone tried it?
I am not using Palladio papaer, but B&S chems. on Platine, which I love.
