We have the Epsom Stylus Photo EX printer.
With it set on 1400dpi, which I don't believe, but anyway, at that setting,
and with Epsom's Photo Enhance2 setting, on Epsom photo quality ink jet
paper, it produces a print which is very difficult to tell is not a
"c"type. Certainly at a viewing distance of 30cm its impossible.
We are using it to produce A3 size prints and paper negs. The paper negs
seem very suitable, however we have not tried transparency film because the
result with paper is good enough.

Subject: Inkjet printer consensus

Has the list come to a consensus regarding the current batch of inkjet
printers and their ability to produce acceptable paper/transparency
negatives?

I’ve seen output from the current crop of Alps printers. Even the samples
in
the manufacturer’s literature show obvious banding.

I’m considering the Epson Stylus Photo EX and get the impression I could do
a
lot worse. Any comments?

Sorry if I’m beating a dead horse,

Russell
