I am not sure that I understand you completely, but I recently did a
project remotely similair: I printed 4 different images (2 VDB and 2
Cyanotypes) on the same piece of paper (I delibertly (sp?) used a brush
resulting in clear brushmarks, but maybe if you use some sort of masking
tape, you can get straigth edges). The whole sheet was placed behind a
passpartout on which I printed a text ( a scanned and enlarged quote from
a old dutch dictionairy, the words have some relation with the images..I
hope..;-)..). I used Xray film as the enlarged negative, but any film will
do, providing that you "crank up" the Dmax beyond say 1.8. I used cyantype
chemistry, these area's result in paper white, and what I understand from
gum, even lower densities are sufficient. The end-result were clear blue
letters on the white matte..
