Physical development is an interesting method. It can even be used if you
fix the film first! Though you do need to give a rather generous exposure.
I think it was one of the methods used in showing the existence of latent
images.

My hazy memory is that there was a product available that gave you either
gold or silver images from a normal silver print, but I was never
interested enough to buy it.
