 I tried pyro, and not PMK (It was before PMK was released) in my old
Merz tube processor and rapidly gave it up even though I was using the
old films. It tended to produce heavy -- and uniform -- staining; so
heavy, the printing times were really out of hand and the negatives were
decidedly unpleasant to work with. I suspect this is due to aeration --
oxidation of the pyro itself, which tends to produce a very dark brown
color in the solution.
When I use it, I use it in a tray, freshly mixed, one shot.  Yes I know;
that's why I wear rubber gloves. I remember Brett Weston's fingernails.
