Re: Book signing and print exhibition at SPE

Jon! Are you going?? Maybe we can finally meet, but at least I will check out the book. I will be wearing a red lanyard (board member indication apparently) and introducing Gene Nocon, Julianne Kost and Gary Kolb if you are going to any of those. If not maybe we can design a time around our schedules to meet. I will be staying at the Adam Mark as well.

I didn't realize, since the SPE convention was on my spring break vacation, that I would, in fact, have to work there as much as I do. There are scheduled meetings and events most of the time (whew) but I am sure I can slip away at some point for a beer. And I am supposed to read a 342 p. board book before going.

Any other list members going that would like to meet??
Chris

Subject: Book signing and print exhibition at SPE

Hi All,

My friend Angela Faris Belt is having a book signing and opening reception of some of the work featured in her new book on Friday, March 14 at the Art Institute of Colorado in conjunction with the SPE Conference in Denver.

Work I did on Angela's intaglio prints is featured in the book and in the exhibit. I have her book and it's really beautiful. Intended primarily as a text book for photography students, it's a compendium of many kinds of work and techniques, both digital and analog along, with explanations on how the techniques were done and notes by the photographers, as well as Angela.

The book, entitled "The Elements of Photography: Understanding and Creating Sophisticated Images" may be seen and ordered here through Amazon, though copies will be available at the reception:

http://www.amazon.com/Elements-Photography-Understanding-Creating-Sophisticated/dp/0240809424/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1202956834&sr=8-1

Art Institute of Colorado is at 1200 Lincoln Street and the reception starts around 6 and goes until 8pm.

Hope to see some Alt Photo Process folks there!

Regards,
Jon
